Gatcombe park farm is our family home where we breed Alpacas, we love our surroundings and countryside location and wanted to share these wonderful animals in their surroundings with others, when Covid came along in 2020 we set about creating a small glamping site. Gatcombe Park is an adults-only site for a more grown-up holiday. The glamping options are wonderfully unique, exemplified by a traditional showman’s circus wagon that has been completely restored and modernised, now a self-contained tiny home with a spacious living area along with scenic outdoor decking. The cosy timber Retro cabin is set in the berry garden and the Native American tipis are out in the paddocks, close to a landscaped pond – complete with a swinging bench from which to admire the Alpacas – We have well-equipped shared amenities such as heated showers and flushing toilets for campers and glampers. The south-facing field means that you’ll be in prime position for the sun, and a barbecue is provided for glampers to take full advantage of the weather. Unfortunately as we have young Alpac's through the summer we can not have any dogs on site other than our own or one well behaved one in the Showman's if kept on a lead when outside.

There are two popular country pubs that can be reached in under a 10-minute walk, while the River Dart is a little further on – slip in for some wild swimming if you’re brave enough, or bring your kayak to explore this 47-mile stretch of water. The town of Totnes is a short drive away, a lively hub of small independent retailers, cafés, and restaurants. But with this being South Devon, chances are you’re in the market for some sea and sunshine – so it’s a good thing some of the region’s best beaches are on your doorstep. Paignton and Torquay are within a 20-minute drive away, these seaside towns being an ideal destination for a day out, while the gorgeous, award-winning countryside beach of Broadsands is also close by.

THE FARM

There's plenty to do in the surrounding area, including visiting the many stunning beaches, historic towns, coastal walks or Dartmoor walks all just a short drive from the site. If you prefer a relaxing weekend away, Just hang on the site and enjoy the Alpacas, take a walk with them or short walk away have a meal in the village pub.

Bustling Totnes is only five minutes away, and filled with plenty to explore. it has lots of thriving independent shops and cafes, a weekend market with local products including the wonderful old cinema.

We absolutely loved our stay in the showmans wagon! it is pefect for a relaxing romantic break, with everything you need for a warm cosy holiday.
The view is beautiful and the deck was great for a sunny breakfast in this beautiful part of Devon.
We were able to walk to both the local pubs and had lovely food at both.
We also walked to Totnes (about 2 miles) along ancient old paths with some gorgeous views, and we enjoed the Friday market and all the quirky shops.
Thank you Philip, we loved it and hope to come back sometime.

From the moment we arrived to this beautiful little paradise hidden away our host was superb there is a calm and tranquility a great escape from day to day life everything exceeded our expectations we would highly recommend our only issue is we didn’t stay longer
Thank you Philip

Philip managed to fit us in with a couple hours notice, everything was perfect. We had an amazing bbq followed by use of the fire pit and watched the sunset. It's nicely tucked away so it was amazing to watch all the stars at night with a drink.

The alpacas graze just next to the tipi which made the trip.

Will definitely be back :)
